Indore: Bodies of couple, twins found in resort, gambling debts force family to commit suicide
Bodies of four people belonging from the same family were found from a famous resort in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday evening. Among the dead were software engineer Abhishek Saxena, his wife Preeti Saxena and their 14-year-old twins — son Advait and daughter Ananya.
The family of four had checked into the resort on Wednesday afternoon. The incident came to light after the family did not turn up for breakfast, following which the resort staff opened the door of the room and found the bodies.
The staff then informed the local police about the mysterious case.
Police have sent the bodies for of the victims for autopsy, while the forensic team collected evidence from the scene. According to the police investigation, the family died by consuming sodium nitrate which was found from the hotel room.
INVESTIGATION REVEALED ONLINE BETTING ADDICTION
During the investigating, police found mobile phones and laptops of Abhishek and his family from the hotel room. The family members of the victims were also questioned that later unveiled the motive behind the suicides.
During the probe, police found that Abhishek was addicted to online betting, which also became the prime reason behind the suicide. The deceased had been investing in online betting for the past several years and had lost a significant amount of money sports gambling.
DECEASED HAD ORDERED SODIUM NITRATE ONLINE
In a shocking revelation during the probe, police found out that Abhishek had ordered sodium nitrate online. The same sodium nitrate was also found by the cops from the room in the resort, where the bodies of Abhishek and his family were found.
