Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by seven runs
Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner opened up on his team’s 7-run win over Chennai Super Kings in Dubai, saying he backed youngster Abdul Samad to bowl the final over as he had no options left.
CSK needed 28 runs from the final over and skipper David Warner handed the ball to 18-year-old J and K spinner Abdul Samad. It was a gamble that paid off. Samad started with a wide that yielded CSK a boundary but held his nerves to see his side through.

“I backed him (Samad) – I had no option. We tried to kill the game in the 19th over. Could have given it to Abhishek, but Samad with his height had to bowl the last one,” David Warner said in the post-match presentation ceremony after SRH registered their 2nd successive win in IPL 2020.
Gritty batting by rookies Priyam Garg (51 not out) and Abhishek Sharma with some exceptional bowling by T Natarajan and spinners helped Sunrisers Hyderabad clinch a narrow 7-run win over Chennai Super Kings. SRH spinners, specially Rashid Khan deserve the credit for the win. The Afghan was, as usual exceptional, as he choked CSK with his well-measured deliveries. He did not get a wicket but conceded only 12 runs his four overs.
“This was a little better as compared to the last one. It was quite challenging, it’s good to see swing upfront. It’s my message to the youngsters, to go out there and score some runs.
“These guys assessed the conditions and played well, so really really proud of them. These guys really work hard, they execute their yorkers, they execute their slower ones. These are the rewards we are getting, and hopefully, we get the momentum going forward,” Warner added..
