If you want to buy a tablet for yourself, there are not many options. You either end up buying the Apple iPad with iOS or Samsung Galaxy Tab with Android platform. What else? Yes, there are more from brands like Microsoft, TCL, Lenovo, and Huawei. One of these companies which is Huawei is quite competitive when it comes to unveiling new products. Among those products, on the stocks is a new Android tablet as per the latest report.
The name of the upcoming Huawei MatePad series tablet is unspecified. But the reports share that it will sport a 12.9-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. The Huawei MatePad tab will likely compete with Apple iPad Pro 2020 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+.
The Huawei’s latest MatePad tab will come in a thin metal body with narrow bezels for better viewing experience. There might be no punch-hole camera in the tab which hints towards an under-display front-facing camera. Reportedly, the tablet will be powered by Kirin 9000 Series System-on-Chip.
For the software, the Huawei latest tab will run PadOS. This operating system is based on the Harmony OS system and specifically designed for the company’s tablets. The PadOS will expectedly succeed EMUI 10 which comes with Huawei MatePad T8.
Huawei could launch its latest MatePad tablet in March, 2021, alongside Huawei P50 series smartphones. The P50 series phones may run on Android 11-based EMUI 11.1. Also, reports reveal that Huawei’s forthcoming smartphones will boast an innovative liquid lens technology. The technology will improve focusing speeds to obtain millisecond-level focusing, nearly on the lines of the human eye.
Anyway, the company has officially launched two tablets namely Huawei MediaPad M5 lite New Edition and Huawei MatePad T8 in 2020. The MediaPad M5 lite was launched last year but the company introduced a new configuration model earlier this year. The Huawei MediaPad M5 lite New Edition comes with 4GB RAM plus 64GB internal storage.
The Huawei MatePad T8 was announced in September 2020. Being an entry-level tablet for beginners, the MatePad T8 starts at Rs 10,999 in India. The tablet features an 8-inch display for media consumption and comes in a single colour variant. For the battery, users get a 5100mAh capacity which the company claims can power the device for up to 12 hours of video playback and web browsing. The MatePad T8 is powered by an Octa-core chipset with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage configuration.
